Auto-entrepreneurs can currently make their turnover declarations using net-entreprises.fr or by post with forms sent by RSI/URSSAF.

From 1st October 2014, auto-entrepreneurs with a turnover reaching 50% of the maximum threshold, will have to make their declarations online. This process, called dématérialisation de la declaration et du paiement des costisations sociales, aims to cut down on paperwork.

This compulsory process will apply to both social charges declaration and payment. It also means that only automatic bank transfers will be accepted (no more cheque payments).

Maximum turnover triggering a compulsory online declaration:

  • Greater than 41,500 euros for activités commerciales.
  • Greater than 16,450 euros for services.

Penalty fees will be applied to auto-entrepreneurs failing to comply with the online declaration and payment:

  • 0.2% of the turnover indicated on the paper declaration.
  • 0.2% of the amount paid by cheque instead of automatic bank transfer.
